Our gift of JOY

Many of you don't know the story of when Josiah was born. First of all, with having our third child, Jon and I had mixed emotions. We love our children!! But having "one more" was something that we just couldn't wrap our brains around. We thought, "Oh no, we will have to have a bigger car, we wouldn't all be able to fit in a booth at a restaurant (I don't know why that was important...), we would no longer have one child per adult to be responsible for, 3 cars, 3 college educations, etc.... You get the picture??
Well, after the initial "shock" of the news, we began to get excited and started telling everyone the "good news". God began to tell me that this baby was going to bring us JOY! We found out we were having a BOY!!! Which brought a whole NEW excitement! Naming him was fun. We wanted to pick a name that had initials JLH because Jon and his brother and father and grandfather all have the same initials. So we chose Josiah Levi which definately holds him to a HIGH standard!
So the day that Josiah was born, we were very excited. We knew that our lives would be forever changed having a third child, and that God gave us this beautiful GIFT! As the doctor was suctioning out his mouth, Jon and I were listening for that first cry, when we heard the cutest little baby giggle. To our AMAZEMENT, we looked at the doctor and Jon asked "did you hear that??" and the doctor said "yes, he laughed!". And I immediately remembered God saying that Josiah was going to bring us JOY!! I know in my heart that the Lord was reminding us, at the very moment that Josiah entered the world, that he was going to infect our lives with so much gladness! And from his first breath, he let out an infectious laugh that warmed our hearts so very much! Every day, even the days that he's sick, he melts my heart and brings a smile to my face. I couldn't imagine our lives without Josiah or JOY!! PRAISE the LORD for His GIFT of having children (by whatever means) and for His JOY that fills our daily lives!

On your comment regarding Macie's book. You can buy the kit or make one off the internet. My mom bought Macie the kit, but you can do more with your book off the internet.

I had to help quite a bit, but it was fun. She colored everything and I used some her exact words. She was so very excited when she got the book. She's going to take it to school tomorrow..I've thought about taking it to the bank.
